The German Skatverband eV (DSkV) is an umbrella organization of German Skat Sports Teams. It was founded on March 12, 1899 in Halle an der Saale , the seat of the association is the Skatstadt Altenburg . From 1954 to 2001, Bielefeld was the seat of the association due to the division of Germany. The office in Bielefeld was closed in 2005, since then Altenburg has been the sole seat again.

Together with the International Skat Players Association (ISPA), the DSkV adopts the international skat rules . An important organ of the association is the German Skat Court , which decides on disputes in tournament games. There are also open tournaments and the German championships.
The German Skat Association has almost 26,000 members who are organized in 13 regional associations and 1,666 clubs. The DSkV organizes German championships in individual, team and tandem. There are also open tournaments in which all interested skat players can take part - without having to prove membership (German Ladies Cup, German Mixed Championship, Germany Cup and the biennial International DSkV Skat Cup). In addition to these tournaments, there is also a league game operation, which is divided into national and regional leagues. This leads to double events, as the IPSA, in addition to its focus on the world and European championships, also organizes German championships with individual and team ratings and organizes its own Bundesliga operation.
