The German Lawyers Institute e. V. (DAI) is the training and further education institution of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers (BRAK), the Federal Chamber of Notaries and the regional chambers of lawyers and notaries. The DAI is a registered non-profit association (eV) based in Bochum with the aim of promoting the education and training of lawyers and notaries, their offspring and their employees in all areas of law.
General
The events in the 27 specialist institutes of the DAI deal with fundamental and current topics. This includes annual working conferences, specialist lawyer courses , seminars, workshops, events on special topics and e-learning offers.
The DAI has its own training centers in Bochum, Heusenstamm near Frankfurt and Berlin. In addition, seminars and conferences are organized nationwide (often in cooperation with the local chambers of lawyers and notaries) at different venues.
The German Lawyers' Institute has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 since 2008 . The German Lawyers' Institute is an approved carrier according to AZAV .
history
The German Lawyers Institute e. V. has its roots in the Institute for Tax Law of the Lawyers' Association, founded in 1953. V., which held courses and conferences on the subject of "Taxes and Operations". The most important events included the “Annual Tax Law Conference”. In 1965 he joined the Federal Bar Association. As a result, the institute oriented its activities even more nationally. In 1969 the Federal Chamber of Notaries joined the institute as a supporting member.
An important step in the development took place in 1978 with the renaming of the Institute for Tax Law der Rechtsanwaltschaft e. V. in Deutsches Anwaltsinstitut e. V. Associated with this was an expansion of the content of the range of events to include new specialist areas, initially labor law , social law and administrative law .
The nationwide activities of the DAI in all areas of law gradually led to the addition of further chambers of lawyers and notaries from 1982 onwards.
Organization and structure
The organs of the association are the board of directors and the general assembly.
Board and members
The Federal Bar Association, the Federal Chamber of Notaries and the Bar and Notary Associations are the members of the Deutsches Anwaltsinstitut e. V. The general assembly is called at least once a year, at which the delegates of the member organizations discuss matters relating to the DAI, take appropriate decisions and elect the association's board. His term of office is four years. The full-time management is responsible for the operative business.
Specialized institutes
The technical and content-related control of the advanced training offer is carried out by the 27 specialist institutes. Specifically, these are the specialist institute for notaries , plus 24 specialist institutes that correspond in their focus to the existing specialist lawyers' offices of the specialist lawyer regulations, as well as the interdisciplinary institutes for law firm management as well as for mediation and out-of-court dispute resolution.
