German Architecture Center

The "German Architecture Center" (DAZ) is an architecture center that goes back to an initiative of the Association of German Architects . It was opened on July 1, 1995 in Berlin-Mitte in Berlin's Luisenstadt in a former factory building.

The DAZ acts as a place of exchange and new ideas, mediation and debate on topics of architecture, the city and their artistic references. Architects, urban planners, artists, citizens, users and critics discuss questions of architecture, spatial planning and urban society in workshops , exhibitions , discussions, film evenings and book presentations.

The artistic director Matthias Böttger, who has been active since 2011, deals with questions about the meaning and possibilities of architecture and its seriousness.
