The German Young Researchers Network - juFORUM e. V. is a registered, non-profit association of schoolchildren, students and doctoral candidates interested in science and technology. The association promotes the interdisciplinary exchange through congresses and workshops as well as through visits to research institutions and companies. The German Young Researcher Network also promotes education in MINT subjects in schools as part of its mentoring program . The juFORUM was founded in 2000 by former participants in the national competition Jugend forscht . The association serves as a platform for young people interested in science. The juFORUM now has around 450 members.
aims
The goals of the association are networking, the promotion of scientific or technical projects and the provision of orientation aids in the MINT area. Above all, the association offers a platform through which young scientists can get in touch and exchange ideas. By getting to know the national and international research landscape, young members in particular have the opportunity to orientate themselves in the scientific and professional world. Schoolchildren and students can also be supported with project ideas.

There are different teams in the association that work in different areas such as press work, regional work, looking after members and cooperations, etc.

Events
JuFORUM offers different event formats. The main event is the annual Young Researcher Congress. The association also organizes workshops, science pubs and follow-up meetings for some national youth research competitions.
Young Researcher Congress
The Young Researcher Congress has been held every spring since 2000. This congress is held every year in a different university town and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The program of the congress includes visits to local companies and research institutions, lectures by scientists and time for discussions.
Science Pub
The Science Pub has been organized in Tübingen in cooperation with the Forum Scientiarum of the University of Tübingen since 2013 . In the context of a science pub, professors from various departments give generally understandable lectures. Science pubs have been held in Jena and Karlsruhe since 2015 and in Münster since 2017.
Workshops
Workshops are usually multi-day events on specific or interdisciplinary topics. In the past these were u. a. Non-Destructive Testing , Particle Physics, Environment and Technology, and Responsibility and Ethics in Science. In addition, there are smaller workshops, such as guided tours through institutes (such as Fraunhofer institutes).
Mentoring program
The mentoring program, for example, organizes workshops on the MIT App Inventor in which pupils are introduced to the basics of programming Android apps in a playful way. The mentoring program also offers formats at various trade fairs, for example, in which schoolchildren can experiment with the natural sciences and technology.
Partnerships
juForum is a member of the VDSI . A cooperation has existed since 2010 with the MINT Creating Future Initiative , which is also committed to promoting the MINT area. Company members include Bayer AG , d-fine and the German Society for Non-Destructive Testing .
