The D 15 is a Deutz brand tractor from the Deutz D series . During its construction period, it was Deutz's smallest and weakest model. With the D 15, the last model was converted to the designations of the D series.
history
With the D 15, the smallest member of the D series was introduced in 1959. At that time it cost 5,450 DM , which corresponds to 12,906 euros based on today's purchasing power. It replaced the F1L712 , which was produced in much larger numbers . Due to the ever-growing farms, the need for tractors in this low power class has decreased considerably. For this reason, the production of Deutz's own 6/3 gearbox, which was used in the F1L712, was discontinued due to lack of profitability. A transmission from ZF Friedrichshafen has now been purchased for the D 15 . It was manufactured by Deutz in Cologne from 1959 to 1962 and by Fahr in Gottmadingen from 1962 to 1964 . The Deutz D 15 was the manufacturer's last single-cylinder model.
technology
Although the D 15, like the F1L712, was equipped with an F1L712 engine, this one has an output of 1 hp more. The main difference lies in the gearbox used: Instead of the 6/3 gearbox from Deutz, an A-4 6/2 gearbox from ZF was used. This has a first gear level that can be used as a fully resilient crawler gear with speeds between 0.4 and 1.5 km / h. In addition to this, the air-cooled motor has light metal pistons with two slotted oil rings and three piston rings, a fine oil and sieve filter and a lockable speed. The coupling comes from Fichtel & Sachs , the three-point power lift with 620 kg lifting force from Bosch . Although most of the production was ordered with hydraulics, Deutz also offered a version without a power lift under the designation D 15 N.
Plantation version
At the same time, a plantation version with the designation D 15 P was also produced. The main difference to the normal version is that a narrower front axle and the ZF A-4P gearbox were installed; so the width was reduced to 920 mm. It also has smaller tires and less ground clearance.
