Dharmapala Rakshita

Dharmapala Rakshita or Dharmapalaraksita (T. dharma pA la rakShi ta; Chinese  达玛巴拉 (答 儿麻 八 剌 剌 吉塔) ), also Dharmapala (* 1268 ; † 1287 ), was the son of Chögyel Phagpa's brother Chagna Dorje ( T. phyag na rdo rje ). From 1281 to 1287 he was head of the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism . From 1281 to 1286 he was the Imperial Teacher (dishi / ti shri; English Imperial Preceptor) of the Mongol Emperor Shizu ( Kublai Khan ). He was the third person to serve as the central government's highest monk official for Buddhist affairs.
