DiVolvo
DiVolvo SA - an abbreviation for Distribuidora Volvo SA - is a former automobile manufacturer and dealer from Arica in Chile .
The company was founded in 1959 by Eduardo Averill. With support from Volvo, he began building an assembly plant in Arica. Support may also have been provided by Norske Veritas . After the completion of the plant in 1962, a total of 2956 Volvo 122 S were assembled by 1966, all of which were four-door versions. The production was based on CKD kits. Frequent or typical equipment features were a front seat bench and steering wheel gearshift. Some vehicles were also used by the Chilean police. In addition, copies of the PV544 and P1800 were assembled at DiVolvo.
DiVolvo also acted as a dealer, maintenance service provider and training facility for Volvo in South America.
