The dialdehydes are compounds that contain two aldehyde groups .

Aliphatic dialdehydes

• Glyoxal (ethandial)
• Malondialdehyde (propandial)
• Succinaldehyde (butanedial)
• Glutaraldehyde (pentanedial)
• Adipaldehyde (hexandial)

The group of substances derived from alkanes is called alkandiale .
