The Diamant Schuhfabrik Otto Müller KG is a German family company that operates worldwide and specializes in the manufacture of dance shoes . The company headquarters and production site is in Bad Soden am Taunus in the Main-Taunus district in Hesse and is now in the 4th generation of Thomas Otto Müller.

With the establishment of a "shop for the production of natural shoes" on May 19, 1873, the master shoemaker Eberhard Müller laid the foundation stone for the family business. His shop was in Frankfurt am Main, Ziegelgasse 12. He made a shoe called "angulus" (Greek for "angle") that was adapted to the natural shape of the foot, just like his son Otto Müller Senior after him.

On September 5, 1938 Otto Müller Senior bought the Frankfurt shoe factory Patos and produced Patos and Angulus shoes himself. The Angulus shoe was also produced under license in Schweinfurt / Main and in Switzerland, which made it known beyond the borders of Germany.

After the Second World War , in May 1945, Otto Müller jun. the successor and rebuilt the destroyed production facility in Frankfurt. With machines that were partly rented, Angulus shoes were once again produced according to the “newest chic and newest style”.

While looking for a suitable new company site, Otto Müller jun. In 1957 a plot of land on the edge of the Taunus and in the summer of 1958 the new shoe factory in Bad Soden could be moved into.

The company dropped the name Patos and was now called Angulus Otto Müller KG. From now on, bridal and evening shoes were produced in Bad Soden. The first dance shoes were made in 1975, and under the name "Diamant" a dance shoe collection was created that was co-developed by well-known German dancers.

In 1979 Thomas Müller took over the family business. He learned his trade at the renowned Italian college ARS Suttoria in Milan . With the exclusive specialization in dance shoes, the company name Diamant Schuhfabrik Otto Müller KG was adopted in 1982 .

Products

The product range of the Diamant Schuhfabrik includes dance shoes for ballroom dancing and tournament dance for categories such as standard, latin, tango, salsa and other dances. Dance sneakers (sneakers with split soles for modern dance styles), dance accessories and the annual “Diamant Dance Emotions” calendar are also available.
