Diapaga is the capital of the Tapoa province in the far east of Burkina Faso and is located on the N19 national road between Kantchari and Arly . The population consists mainly of gourmandché . Diapaga was founded in the middle of the 17th century by Haussa from Bornu . According to legend, they crossed the Niger on a giant python.
