The Diapharm GmbH & Co. KG is a pharmaceutical provider who administrates industry Pharma as external regulatory affairs department medicines, nutritional supplements, cosmetics and medical devices on behalf of. The company gained notoriety in 2009 when it became known that Diapharm had submitted a so-called switch application for the expectorant drug acetylcysteine on behalf of a customer . Acetylcysteine drugs should no longer only be allowed to be sold in pharmacies, but also in supermarkets. The application was rejected by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), among other things because Diapharm did not disclose the client of the application.
Company history
Diapharm GmbH & Co. KG emerged from Diapharm GmbH based in Münster, Diapharm Regulatory Services GmbH based in Münster and Oldenburg , Diapharm Clinical Management GmbH based in Oldenburg and Hälsa Pharma GmbH based in Lübeck . The group also includes Diapharm Austria GmbH, based in Vienna ( Austria ), and Diapharm BV, based in Breda ( Netherlands ). Since mid-2014, the company has also been represented in Asia with an office in Shanghai ( China ). In May 2017 Diapharm opened an office in Frankfurt am Main. Diapharm's pharmaceutical laboratory, Diapharm Analytics GmbH in Oldenburg, formerly Zentralinstitut Arzneimittelforschung GmbH, has been part of the Tentamus Group since December 2018. At the beginning of 2020, Diapharm surprisingly parted ways with its longstanding managing director Ralf Sibbing.
