The Diaz Cove is a small bay near the eastern end of the south coast of South Georgia . It is 16 km northwest of Cape Disappointment . The Kuprijanow Islands are in their entrance .
The bay was already known to the first seal hunters who headed for South Georgia. The Norwegian sealer captain Johannesen named them after his ship Diaz in 1929 .
