Richard Timothy "Dick" Kinney (* 15. December 1916 in Utah ; † 24. March 1985 in Glendale (California) ) was an author of Disney - animated films and - Comics and the inventor of the figure Dussel Duck .

Dick Kinney began his professional life, stimulated by his older brother Jack Kinney (1909-1992), who was an animator, screenwriter and director at Disney from 1931 to 1958 , as an animator with Walter Lantz . In the early 1940s he moved to Disney, where he was employed as a storyman for animated films. He was involved in the making of around 40 shorter animated films, in particular numerous goofy films. His involvement in at least four films with Donald Duck in the leading role is also documented.

After Disney finished making short films, Kinney went back to Walter Lantz and later also worked for UPA , Hanna-Barbera and Terry Toons . In order to stay connected to the Disney characters, he began to write comics that were initially intended for the foreign market, which is why he is better known as a comic author in Europe than in the USA . Nevertheless, numerous comics were created between 1963 and 1970 in which, together with the draftsman Al Hubbard, Fethry Duck ( Dussel Duck ) invented, Donald's idiot cousin.
