Günter Kiehm

Günter Kiehm (born August 3, 1931 in Hanover ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Kiehm worked from 1952 to 1955 as an administrative employee in the administration of the Hanover district. He had been employed in the non-profit housing industry since 1955, and from 1962 to 1973 as managing director of a municipal housing association. From 1974 to 1980 he was director of the Hanover municipal association .

Kiehm joined the SPD in 1950 and was a council member for the city ​​of Barsinghausen from 1959 to 1966 . From 1961 to 1971 he was a member of the district council of Hanover and served there as district administrator from 1966 to 1970 . From 1970 to 1974 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . In the Bundestag election in 1980 he was elected to the German Bundestag , to which he belonged until 1990. In 1980 and 1987 he won the direct mandate in the constituency of Hanover-Land II and in 1983 he entered parliament via the state list of the SPD Lower Saxony.
