Dick Mitchell
John Richard "Dick" Mitchell (born July 18, 1920 in Council Bluffs , † April 10, 2000 in San Diego ) was an American badminton player .
Career
Dick Mitchell was runner-up in 1952 with the US men's team in the Thomas Cup . In the final they were defeated by Malaya 2: 7, with Mitchell also losing out in all of his four encounters. Three years later, the US team only finished fourth. In 1961 Mitchell won the Senior US Open in men's doubles with Wynn Rogers and acted as the non-playing captain in the 1961 Thomas Cup .
