Dick Richards (musician)

Dick Richards (* 1924 in Yeadon , Pennsylvania as Dick Boccelli; † July 12, 2019 in Ocean City , New Jersey ) was an American drummer and actor .

Dick Richards played with Bill Haley & His Comets until September 1955 . He then founded the band The Jodimars with Marshall Lytle (bass) and Joey D'Ambrosio (tenor saxophone) , which was dissolved in 1959. After the re-establishment of Bill Haley's Original Comets in 1987, Richard went regularly on tours through Europe and the USA and recorded sound carriers.

In addition to Walter Bucks and Tom Gargan , Richards had been a member of the band The Ready Rockers since 2013, with whom he regularly performed regionally.

Richards played smaller roles in American films and series since the 1970s.

Richard was married to Elizabeth (Betty) Kurtz from 1950 until her death in 1986. They had three daughters together. He was then in a relationship with Shirley Kubaska until his death.
