Dick van den Polder

Dick van den Polder (born September 23, 1934 - October 21, 2013 ) was a Dutch football player .

Athletic career

Van den Polder came from the youth of Excelsior Rotterdam . For the club he made his debut in 1954 in the competition team, which at the time competed in the top division. With the introduction of professional football in 1956, he missed qualifying for the Eredivisie with the club , until 1964 he ran as a professional for the club in the second division. He played a total of 199 games and scored eight goals.

After the end of his career, van den Polder worked as a sports journalist for various Dutch newspapers and accompanied Feyenoord Rotterdam in particular with his critical reporting .
