The television series, produced from 1975 to 1977, comprises 52 episodes of five minutes each and was a co-production by television broadcasters and production companies from Germany ( BR , Telepool ), Austria ( ORF ), Switzerland ( SRF ), Hungary ( Pannonia Filmstudio ) and Yugoslavia ( Radiotelevizija Ljubljana , Radiotelevizija Zagreb ). The adventures of the mouse on Mars arose from a storytelling competition in which children were invited to send in their ideas for stories. A total of around 22,000 mailings came from five countries. Based on some of the ideas, the authors Gabi Kubach and Peter F. Bringmann developed the 52 episodes of the series.

The Ueberreuter storytelling competition took place in 1971 (25 years Ueberreuter Verlag, 10 years Annette Betz Verlag). 6671 children wrote stories. 100 stories were selected and published in the book "The Mouse on Mars". ISBN 3 8000 2131 5 .

content

The mouse originally lived in Cape Canaveral , but was shot to Mars by rocket and was unable to return. On Mars, they experienced with their neighbors, a Martian and a mole , many adventures. However, the mouse has to be careful when eating dondrins, red and white striped candy canes that grow on trees, because they always became much too big.
