The Best 7 Books for Young Readers is a list of the best for children's and young adult literature .

General

The list The best 7 books for young readers has been compiled every month since October 1994 by a jury on behalf of Deutschlandfunk and Focus .

The list contains literature for children and young people from the fields of fiction , poetry , non-fiction and picture books . Ute Wegmann and Hajo Steinert present the best list on a monthly basis in the “ Büchermarkt ” program on Deutschlandfunk . The program is primarily aimed at adults and provides a table of contents and an analysis of the books. The book with the most approval will be presented in detail and commented on by a member of the jury who has chosen this book. The Focus published this list in its print edition and in its online offer. The initiative of the federal government and the federal states "Reading in Germany" adopts this list as a proposal list. Some publishers also use the list as advertising.

The jury

The jury for the selection of the best 7 books for young readers consists of 29 qualified people from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The jurors are all active in the field of youth literature.
