The letters from Santa Claus
The letters from Santa Claus (Original title: Father Christmas Letters (1976), Letters from Father Christmas (2004)) is a book by the British writer JRR Tolkien . It consists of letters Tolkien to his children from 1920 to 1942 in which he called Father Christmas , so as Santa Claus , North Pole annually writes from and describes his experiences of the last year. In addition to Santa Claus himself, his secretary Ibereth and a polar bear also have their say, each with their own handwriting. These letters were illustrated with drawings that Tolkien made himself.
The letters were not originally intended for publication, but after Tolkien's death they were edited by his daughter-in-law Baillie Tolkien , Christopher Tolkien's wife , and published in book form in 1976.
