The crumbs on the table
The crumbs on the table is an animal tale ( ATU 106). It is in the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm from the 5th edition of 1843 instead of 190 (KHM 190) on Swiss German and comes from Moriz Haupt Journal of German antiquity , where Wilhelm Wackernagel it in 1843 published ( legends and fairy tales from Aargau , No. 4 , pp. 36-37).

The rooster urges the chickens to peck crumbs from the dining table with him because the woman is gone. When they finally join in, she comes and beats them. The chickens say: "Ga, ga, ga, ga, ga, ga, ga - we said it!" The rooster laughs: "Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha - I knew it!"
interpretation
The fairy tale apparently aims to characterize the brazen rooster, fearful chickens and to imitate their sounds. The diminutive speak for children as addressees. Wilhelm Grimm almost literally adopted the Aargau dialect text .
