The Great Audio Bible

The Great Listening Bible is a dramatized recording of the Luther Bible .

With a playing time of more than 80 hours , the audio book contains the unabridged and unchanged text of the Old and New Testaments on 80 audio CDs or eight MP3 CDs . The basis of this audio Bible is the translation of the Bible according to Martin Luther in the revised version of 1984, the Bible text recommended by the Evangelical Church in Germany ( EKD ) for ecclesiastical use.

The German Bible Society is the publisher of the Große HörBibel . The director was Philipp Schepmann , who was nominated for the German Audio Book Prize in 2006 for “ The Chronicles of Narnia ” based on CS Lewis . Over 80 speakers, including Christian Brückner , Michael Mendl , Marianne Rogée , Walter Kreye , Peer Augustinski and Ernst-August Schepmann , took part in around 1000 roles of biblical characters in the production.
