The island without a bank (Original: L'île sans rivages ) is a Swiss documentary from 2018. The film is about an old man (Jack Voirol) who made sea voyages on freighters during the Second World War . In Vietnam , at the same time, an officer gets on a new Swiss ocean-going ship. The documentary shows the Swiss deep sea fleet and food reserves and the idea of the Swiss entrepreneur Gottlieb Duttweiler to build a Swiss free port on the Mediterranean in Monaco . The film was shown at the Solothurn Film Festival, and the cinema release in French-speaking Switzerland was on May 23, 2018.
