The Maledos is a singing and music ensemble founded in 1958 by the Mombacher Carneval Verein die Bohnebeitel . The name Maledos is derived from the Maleten, the Mombach term for the apricot .

Band history

The Maledos have been part of the Mainz Carnival since 1958 . At that time they still performed in the Electoral Palace , as there was no suitable hall in Mombach after the war . The original line-up of the three Maledos was: Gusti Becht, Jupp Mentges and Horst Hörsken. In 1959 Lothar Mohr joined the group. In 1965, the group appeared in the first television meeting Mainz remains Mainz and caused a sensation with their parody of the "Beatles". The ZDF reached with the shipment of 10.5 million German screens. After this campaign, co-founder Horst Hörsken left for professional reasons. From then on there were three Maledos.

In 1970 the trio satirized the German crime addiction with Emma Peel and solo for ONKEL

The 25th anniversary was celebrated in the renovated hall of the Mombacher gymnastics club. This time there were four Maledos: Gusti Becht (guitar), Lothar Mohr (accordion), Klaus-Dieter Becht (accordion), who joined the group in 1976, and Robert Bartsch (double bass + text). The double accordion line-up came from Lothar Mohr's seasonal absence, during which Becht stepped in and has belonged to the Maledos ever since.

Excerpt from the leporello of the Mainz Carnival

In 2005, the 65-year-old co-founder of the Maledos, Gusti Becht, has been on the Bohnebeitel stage without interruption since the founding year 1958 and thus 47 years. On behalf of Mayor Jens Beutel he was awarded the Leporello of the Mainz Carnival by Mayor Eleonore Lossen-Geißler , which also decorates the MTV hall.

After Gusti Becht left the company (died 2016), the Meledos consisted of Klaus-Dieter Becht, Dieter Scheffler (since 1994) and Uwe Ferger (since 2001). Robert Bartsch withdrew in the previous years for health reasons and died in 2007.

In addition to stage appearances at KCK, the Ulkern, Prinzengarde, etc., the Maledos also appeared on the ZDF show Schlagerkonfetti , which was organized by the Mainz Ranzengarde in the 1970s , and the show Narren nach Noten .
