The Sims 4: Seasons

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sims 4: Seasons (English original title: The Sims 4: Seasons ) is an expansion pack released on June 22, 2018 in the form of a DLC for The Sims 4 . It adds seasons and holidays to the game. The game uses elements from The Sims 2: Seasons and The Sims 3: Seasons .

Gameplay

There are the following innovations:

  • New career: gardening
  • New game options and interactions: seasons, weather, holidays, calendar
  • New interactive objects: thermostat, children's paddling pool
  • New death: thermostat

public holidays

There are four preprogrammed holidays: Love Day, Thanksgiving Day, Winter Festival, and New Years Eve. They simulate the holidays in real life. Unlike previous games, players can create their own holidays using the calendar. The traditions distinguish the holidays from each other.

Traditions are activities that Sims do on the holidays. For example, on New Years Eve, Sims want to make resolutions and count down to midnight. The holidays affect not only the Sims played by the player, but also Sims in the same save file.

Unlike preset and player-created holidays, some just pop up randomly. Neighborhood Brawl, for example, is a holiday in which you fight against each other and which is triggered randomly.

If a Sim follows the traditions of a holiday, they will receive additional Happiness Points that can be used to purchase certain personal skills from the Rewards Store.

calendar

The Sims 4: Seasons introduces a new calendar icon that shows players planned and upcoming events for their Sims. The calendar icon can also be used to plan new events in advance.

reception

The Metacritic review website said The Sims 4: Seasons received "generally positive reviews". Twinfinte's Yamilia Avendano praised the new features built into the game, but criticized the lack of a new world. She said, "It's a shame that there isn't a whole new world and I personally can't forgive you for that." Avendano also rated the game, saying it was "worth your time and attention" if the player owns The Sims 4 and enjoys it. Hardcore Gamer's Spencer Rutledge praised the expansion for "adding a tremendous amount of depth" and "can't wait for the changes The Sims 4: Seasons will bring to his Sims' lives."
