The city is mine again -

The city is mine again is the fourth album by the rapper Fiva and the first that she recorded with an accompanying band called “The Phantom Orchestra”.

Emergence

In 2010 Fiva, who in addition to her career as a rapper, also works as a radio presenter, interviewed Rüdiger Linhof from the band Sportfreunde Stiller . After the radio show ended, the idea of making music together arose. For this album a band called "The Phantom Orchestra" was put together, to which Linhof and his bandmate Florian Weber also joined.

This changed Fiva's working concept that she had used on her previous albums: while Fiva had always rapped on hip-hop beats before, entire compositions were worked out especially for the album. While Fiva wrote the lyrics, Linhof and producer Paul Rzyttka wrote the music. Among other things, double bass , synthesizer and strings were used.

layout

The cover is only available in black, white and red. On the left is a drawing of a keyboard in black and white, on the right a volume control on a record player. A microphone is located immediately in front of the latter.

The evening newspaper characterized "The city belongs again to me" as a "wonderful rap album with a radio-compatible hit as the title song and a refrain that makes every separation less difficult" .

Raptapes.de also praised the album. The songs can be "run through well and enjoy the great lyrics of Fiva" . The artist offers "long lyrically profound texts" . In general, she is “more of a poet than a rapper”.

rappers.in awarded a total of five out of six points and praised the concept of recording the album with an accompanying band. The conclusion is drawn: “If Fiva had dared to try another conventional rap album, it couldn't have been nearly as good. Her rap techniques, like those of many other long-time rappers, are far too outdated for this and their strengths are too far away. The album couldn't have been more fitting than in this form. Charming, poetic lyrics on playful instrumentals make "The city belongs again to me" into a wonderfully carefree album, which can be heard perfectly on the side as well as more precisely and can best be described as an absolutely "round thing" that lacks nothing.
