The banks of the Oise near Pontoise (French: La Route d'Auvers au bord de l'Oise, Pontoise ) is an oil painting on canvas by the French painter Camille Pissarro from 1873 owned by the Indianapolis Museum of Art . The picture shows the Oise near the market town of Pontoise .

Historical information

As a politically active artist, Pissarro fled to London during the Franco-German War . He settled in Pontoise in 1872 after being able to return.
