The Independents (Austria)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Independent List Lugner (DU) was a political party in Austria. It was founded by the Viennese master builder Richard Lugner on the occasion of his candidacy for the federal presidential election in 1998 , in which Lugner received 9.9% of the vote. A year later he tried to move into parliament with DU in the 1999 national election at federal level.

Among other things, this party demanded:

  • a "change of course"
  • Abolition of the Federal Council
  • Reduction of ancillary wage costs
  • Direct wage subsidies and on-the-job training instead of training at WIFI and BFI
  • Employment of the long-term unemployed

The party won 1.02% of the vote. After that she no longer appeared.
