Election results of the Austrian federal presidential elections

The federal presidents in Austria have been directly elected by the population since 1951. The basis for this is the Federal Presidential Election Act .

The candidate who can collect more than 50% of the valid votes cast is considered elected. If no candidate reaches this mark in the first ballot, a run-off election will be held with the two strongest candidates from the first ballot.
