Karl Walter "Kary" Nowak (born August 29, 1943 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author .

biography

After ten years in the Vienna Post Office and eight years of organization and project management in an electrical company, he began to write. Nowak became editor-in-chief of the first national ecologically oriented magazine, Besser Leben . He then founded the environmental organization Bruder Baum and organized several ecology projects, such as the tree sponsorship campaign in Vienna with the support of Friedensreich Hundertwasser and the Austria-wide water test campaign for nitrates in drinking water with the support of Kurt Falk .

As a staunch peace activist, Nowak organized the popular initiative for neutrality in 1996 and reinforced this message of peace as an independent candidate in the federal presidential election in Austria in 1998 (he received 1.9% of the vote). Since 1999 Nowak has called his work a "project organizer, self-esteem and communication trainer".

He has been married since 1975 and has three grown children.

Publications and criticism

In 1992 he wrote the controversial Cancer Healer Report , in 1996 a science fiction novel with the title Peace War and in 2007, together with Michael G. Reichl, the counselor The Seven Secrets of the Rich . Critics accuse Karl Walter Nowak that his novel is " right-wing extremist science fiction " based on the conspiracy theories of Jan van Helsing (alias Jan Udo Holey ) and praising him as a spiritual teacher. In 1995/96, Nowak sued the ORF on the basis of comparable allegations (during the referendum for neutrality) and received justice both before the Broadcasting Commission and in civil court.
