The exiled children of Evas is an Austrian music project that was founded in 1993 by Richard Lederer and Michael Gregor in Vienna . The name is derived from a line in the Salve Regina .

Band history

In 1993 Richard Lederer began to put together his first own pieces, depressed by the results of his band. Shortly afterwards Michael Gregor ( Summoning ) joined him and brought his own ideas into the individual songs. They then founded The Exiled Children of Eve. Together with Nora El Shammah and Richard's sister Julia Lederer, they recorded the vocals and then mixed them into their compositions . After they released two demos, they got a contract with the Swiss record label Witchhunt Records . In March 1995 the first album The banished children of Evas followed , which was named after his own band.

After the first album came out, Nora El Shammah left the band because she didn't like their music. Shortly afterwards Michael Gregor left this too, because he wanted to concentrate more on his own band Summoning.

After the big losses, Richard contacted Oliver Falk, a member of the band WeltenBrand and founder of MOSrecords , and asked him for a recording contract with his own label because he was dissatisfied with the marketing of The Banished Children of Evas on Witchhunt Records.

In 1997 came the band's second album Come Heavy Sleep , which was more classic and diverse. The lyrics were taken by Percy Bysshe Shelley , a British writer from the 19th century. After the album was released, the contact between Oliver and Richard lost more and more, and Richard Lederer was forced to change labels again. He also got new support from the singer Tania Borsky, who had to give way to his sister Julia.

In 1999 the third album In Darkness Let Me Dwell followed , which was initially only to be called The Spirit of Solitude , under Napalm Records . It contained less classical elements, which made Tania's voice sound stronger. As with Come Heavy Sleep , the texts were taken from the writings of Percy Bysshe Shelley and the composer John Dowlands .

Shortly after the release of the third album, singer Tania withdrew and Richard was forced to look for a new singer. He first contacted the Turkish band Sadistic Spell , with whom he initially had good results. But from time to time they lost interest in the project and broke it off.

Still looking for a suitable singer, Richard Lederer worked on Summoning's album Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame .

After several years of searching in vain for an accompanist for his songs, Richard found the Greek singer Christina Kroustali. After only a short time she had memorized all of the songs on "Die banished Kinder Evas" and the studio work for the fourth album Dusk And Void Became Alive could begin. The whole album was recorded within 2 days and was released on November 3rd, 2006, like its predecessor under Napalm Records.
