The Conspirators - In the Name of Justice (Originally Dark Justice ) is an American television series . The lead actor Ramy Zada , who played the role of Judge Nicholas Marshall in the first season, was replaced by Bruce Abbott from the second season .

background

In the opening credits, Judge Nicholas Marshall says: “When I was a police officer, those I caught escaped through a loophole in the law, but I believed in the system. When I was a prosecutor, I lost my charges against cunning attorneys, but I believed in the system. When I was a judge, my hands were tied by the law, but I believed in the system. Until my life was destroyed by it; then I stopped believing in the system and began to believe in justice. "

Nicholas "Nick" Marshall was a police officer, prosecutor, and then a judge. After his wife and daughter are murdered, he takes the law into his own hands and begins to ensure justice at night. During the night he hunts down defendants whom he cannot convict but who are clearly guilty. During the day he wears a suit and robe, his long hair is tamed with gel. At night he wears a leather jacket and jeans and his hair is untamed.

Nick is supported by the former forger Arnold “Moon” Willis ( Dick O'Neill ), his girlfriend Catalana “Cat” Duran ( Begoña Plaza ) and the special effects professional Jericho “Gibs” Gibson ( Clayton Prince ). After Cat dies, Maria Marti ( Viviane Vives ), a former Interpol agent, joins them. She doesn't stay long either and is then replaced by Kelly Cochrane ( Janet Gunn ). She is a private secretary and gets help from "the conspirators", henceforth she works with them.

  • The actor in the main character Nicholas "Nick" Marshall changed after the first season. Due to the great similarity of the actors Ramy Zada (1st season) and Bruce Abbott (2nd and 3rd season), this was initially hardly noticed by any viewer.
  • When Nick says goodbye to a defendant in the courtroom, knowing that he will continue to hunt him down, he says to him: "The judiciary may be blind, but it can see in the dark."
  • Carrie-Anne Moss , who was still relatively unknown at the time, played Tara McDonald, Nick's secretary.
