The aviary

The aviary was a magazine for bird breeders, keepers and lovers.

It has been published as a trade journal for bird owners and breeders, lovers and nature lovers since 1978 ( ISSN  0344-9270 ). The publisher and publisher were initially M. & H. Schaper from Hanover (publisher: Paul Dobler). The editor was Bernd Hachfeld from Kalefeld . Frequency of publication initially 4 times a year, later 6 times and then monthly, illustrated in full color. In addition to all areas of bird keeping, care and breeding, including exhibition, the magazine also gave space to breeding and expatriation attempts of endangered species. Other focal points were veterinary medicine and other special topics. The magazine was sold to the Eugen Ulmer publishing house in 2007 and merged with the magazine Gefiederte Welt .
