Claus-Dieter Schacht (also: Claus-Dieter Schacht-Gaida * 1955 in Hannover ) is a German local politician ( SPD ) and management - functionary . Since 1997 he has been mayor of the city of Hemmingen in Lower Saxony .

Life

Claus-Dieter Schacht completed his training as a typesetter in order to study economics, politics and history via the second educational path . He graduated in Political Science with a Magister Artium (MA) in 1990 .

As a result, Schacht worked as a research assistant for the SPD council group in Hanover with a focus on social and youth policy. Among other things, he was office manager for the city director and for the mayor of Hanover .

Schacht later took on the duties of a specialist teacher at the Lower Saxony Study Institute (NSI) and the University of Applied Sciences for Administration .

In 1994 Schacht moved to Hemmingen-Westerfeld and was elected mayor of the city of Hemmingen for the first time after the local elections on December 15, 1997. After two re-elections, he was re-elected in 2014 with 67.6 percent of the vote.

Claus-Dieter Schacht is a member of the social committee of the German Association of Towns and Municipalities . Schacht is chairman of the board of the NSI, an educational institution of the Lower Saxony municipalities .

In Hemmingen, Schacht is a member of numerous associations, including as a board member of the Hemmingen Music School, a sustaining member of the Hemmingen-Westerfeld volunteer fire brigade and a member of the Arnum chapel association, the Neighbors Help Neighbors Association, the SC Hemmingen-Westerfeld, the Hemmingen 1912 shooting society and the Friends of the Carl Friedrich Gauß School in Hemmingen .

Claus-Dieter Schacht-Gaida is married and has two daughters.
