The Truth About the Holocaust is an eight-part, internationally co-produced documentary series about the Holocaust , which was produced on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp . The German producer of the series was Gunnar Dedio from the production company LOOKSfilm .

The series is based on interviews with well-known historians and writers such as Ian Kershaw , Georg Stefan Troller , Saul Friedländer , Amos Oz and Serge Klarsfeld .

Episodes 1–4 of the series were first broadcast on ZDFinfo on December 19, 2014 , and episodes 5–8 on January 16, 2015. With The Truth About the Holocaust , ZDFinfo appeared for the first time as an international co-producer.
