William Karel

William Karel (* 1940 in Tunisia ) is a Tunisian photographer , writer and director . Karel attended the " École de Photo " in Paris before immigrating to Israel . In Israel he lived in the kibbutz for 10 years , where he first worked as a cook and on a banana plantation.

In 1981 he went back to France, where he has been a photographer for over ten years. He later made various films for television as a writer and director. Among other things, Karel received the Emmy Award for his work , and in 2003 he received the Adolf Grimme Prize for his film Kubrick, Nixon and the man in the moon .
