Among other things, alcohol is drunk at work, a customer's almost completely cleaned car is made dirty again, objects are thrown at one another and the boss is pushed into a tub of water. The waiting car owner then has to be distracted by Buster with a dance performance and by the boss with tricks until Roscoe has cleaned the car again. Another customer, a fearful driver who does not tip, is rented a broken car that breaks apart shortly after the start.

When Molly, the workshop owner's daughter, stops by with her admirer, the city-known heartbreaker Jim, both are accidentally smeared with oil. Believing Jim was responsible, Molly angrily disappears into the bathroom while Jim is cleaned with a petrol shower and blown dry on a turntable by the staff. In order to be undisturbed with his souvenir, Jim lures the two employees out of the workshop and chases a dog on them, whereby the trousers of the caught Buster are completely torn. Seeing his bare underpants, a young lady is indignant about Buster's alleged permissiveness and immediately calls the police. Buster quickly cuts a tartan skirt and a hat from a poster and holds them in front of him, so that the policeman just laughs at the alleged wrongdoing. During the Schottentanz that follows, however, Buster turns, whereupon the vertigo is exposed and he has to flee again.

Meanwhile, Jim tries to appease Molly, who is still angry, in the apartment above the workshop. Just as he gives up and is about to leave, her father and the employees come back home. Afraid of getting caught, Jim hides under Roscoe's bed. Then later, when the employees have gone to sleep, he rings the fire service alarm bell to escape from this situation. The employees jump out of their beds and, after having exchanged their police helmets for fire helmets in a second attempt, hurry away in the fire engine; followed by the father who locks the gate behind him. The imprisoned Jim then tries to burn the gate open, but sets the entire workshop on fire. Rushing back, the two unqualified fail to fight the fire, but Molly and Jim are saved from the flames.
