The Wollnys - A terribly large family is a pseudo-documentary broadcast by RTL II .

content

The program accompanies the everyday life of the extended Wollny family from Neuss , consisting of mother Silvia , father Dieter (seasons 1–4) and the eight children Sylvana, Sarafina, Jeremy-Pascal (seasons 1–4), Sarah-Jane, Lavinia, Calantha , Estefania and Loredana. Ten of Silvia Wollny's children were born in Neuss , the eleventh in Grevenbroich . Three other children have already moved out and hardly appear on the show, but Sarafina's friend Peter has lived with the family since the second season and Sylvana's friend Florian (Flo) since the fourth season (now married).

Silvia's new friend Harald has been with us since season 6, which is why the Wollnys are now daring a new start in an old hotel in Ratheim , which belongs to the town of Hückelhoven in the Heinsberg district . The Wollnys previously lived in three apartments belonging to the Neuss construction association in the Dreikönigenviertel district. However, as the children did not have single rooms and the space was too tight, they finally moved. In addition to everyday experiences such as shopping for a large family, the plot also shows shared vacations and events such as the parents' wedding.

Dieter Wollny, 2013

After the series had achieved ratings above the broadcasting average in the first season, a second season was produced, which was broadcast from January 2 to March 19, 2012. The third season was broadcast from June 25 to December 24, 2012 with a Christmas special on RTL 2. Since the start of the third season, the program has been broadcast on RTL II HD in native HD.

At the end of September 2012 it became known that the Wollny couple, who had been married since 2011, had separated after a relationship that had existed for 28 years, which is why the episodes of the fourth season were shot without Dieter Wollny. The fourth season was broadcast from January 28, 2013 to August 12, 2013 with the addition of Silvia at home alone . The broadcast of the fifth season was from June 11 to July 30, 2014 on RTL II.
