Diebold Nixdorf is a listed US-American information technology group that was founded in 1876 and traded as Diebold Nixdorf after taking over the German Wincor Nixdorf .

history

The company founded in October 1876 goes back to the German immigrant and master locksmith Karl "Charles" Diebold, who was born on October 24, 1824 in Rosenberg .

On November 23, 2015, Wincor Nixdorf and its US competitor Diebold inc. known to want to merge. The takeover by Diebold was completed on August 16, 2016 after approval by all antitrust authorities. Diebold, Inc. was then renamed Diebold Nixdorf, Inc. and employs 23,000 people, 2,000 of them at the European headquarters in Paderborn . The new group has an annual turnover of 4.8 billion euros. The company's shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange . The company is headed by Gerrard Schmid.
