Dieksand or Dieksander Hallig is a former, initially uninhabited Hallig in the Meldorfer Bucht in the Schleswig-Holstein district of Dithmarschen . It developed from natural reclamation and was later diked. Today it forms the western tip of the Friedrichskoog .

history

The Hallig was formed in the 16th century. The dike was first started in 1818, but only lasted until the February flood of 1825 . When the Frederik-VII.-Koog (original name of the Friedrichskoog) was dyed in 1854/1855, Dieksand was incorporated into it and thus connected to the mainland.

The name lives on in Dieksanderkoog , a district of Friedrichskoog.
