Official event (Soldiers Act)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Official events (DVag) are official projects of the Bundeswehr , in particular for military training, further education and training, to which reservists can generally be called in with their consent in accordance with Section 81 of the Soldiers Act .

The opportunity to participate is independent of the requirement, i. In other words, it is irrelevant whether the soldier is scheduled (“ordered”) in the reinforcement or personnel reserve during this period or belongs to the general reserve (not ordered).
See: Structure of the Bundeswehr Reserve

However, a distinction is made between official events of assigned reservists in the context of their assignment in units / departments of the armed forces and official events in the independent, voluntary reservist work:

  • Official events within the framework of assignment relationships primarily aim to refresh and expand the military knowledge and skills related to the assignment troop unit outside of military exercises / exercises and to deepen the bond with the assignment troop unit. The drafting troops are called in.
  • Official events of independent, voluntary reservist work serve to inform and train reservists and to motivate and enable them to perform their mediating function between the Bundeswehr and the civilian part of society. The inclusion takes place i. d. Usually by the locally responsible state command .

If, as an exception, unserved soldiers with soldier status are to take part in a business event, an exemption from the BMVg must be available.
The person in charge can also invite civilian guests who, however, do not acquire soldier status and no sovereign powers.

The duration of a business event is determined by the purpose of the project and, in principle, may not exceed three days. In the event of a longer journey to and from the airport or greater organizational effort, the business event can be extended to up to five days after the decision of the superior responsible for approval.

In the case of a business event, there is no entitlement to payment of military pay under the Military Pay Act and benefits under the Maintenance Assurance Act . According to the Federal Travel Expenses Act , however, reservists are generally entitled to reimbursement of travel expenses to the location of the official event, if this has not already been refused on the invitation, as well as the right to free meals.
