Dieter Bürgin

Dieter Bürgin (born January 11, 1939 in Basel ) is a Swiss child and youth psychiatrist and psychoanalyst .

In 1974, Bürgin took over the management of the Psychiatric University Polyclinic for Children and Adolescents (PUPKJ) from Carl Haffter . From 1984 he was associate professor and from 1989 full professor of child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Basel . In 1996/97 he was dean of the medical faculty. Bürgin retired at the end of 2004.
