Dieter Fassbender

Dieter Fassbender (born April 18, 1935 in Neuss ) is a German numismatist and author.

Life

Dieter Fassbender worked for Kurt Jaeger from 1969 to 1974 and had contacts with the numismatists Gerhard Schneibel, Robert E. Herwegh, W. Schweitzer, Herbert Goebel, H. Winskowsky, Hans Meyer, OE Schulze and Barbara Ernst.

He dealt with numismatics in lectures and publications. In 1985 he received the golden badge of honor from the Society for International Monetary History in Frankfurt / M. awarded.

He is the author of several coin catalogs and, since 1971, the editor of the “Great German Coin Catalog from 1800 to Today” (from the 2nd to the 36th edition).
