Dieter Junige

Dieter Junige (born November 13, 1932 ) was a football player in the GDR Oberliga . In the top division of the GDR Football Association , he played for the company sports community (BSG) Chemie Karl-Marx-Stadt and the SC Motor Karl-Marx-Stadt .

Athletic career

Junige played his first league game for the then second division club BSG Chemie Karl-Marx-Stadt on September 20, 1953 in the encounter on the 1st match day of the GDR league Motor Oberschöneweide - BSG Chemie (0: 3). On his debut, he was used as a right runner, and he held the position essentially until the end of the 26-round season in which he played 21 games. So he belonged to the tribe of players who fought for promotion to the GDR league. Junige kept his regular place in the first league season of Karl-Marx-Städter, because 1954/55 he was missing in only two of the 26 point games. In contrast to the previous season, he was used as a left defender. In this position, he began his second league season in 1956, which was now held every calendar year and brought with it the takeover by the newly founded SC Motor Karl-Marx-Stadt for Junige. During the season he had numerous dropouts, so he could only complete 17 point games. The 1957 season was June's last season at the Karl-Marx-Städter Klub. He was only used sporadically in defense, and on matchday 13 he played in the game Rotation Babelsberg - SC Motor (1: 1) on July 14, 1957 as a left defender, his last competitive game for the sports club. Between 1953 and 1957 he was used in 69 point games, 48 ​​of them in the league. As a defensive player, he didn't score a goal.
