Dieter Kühne

Dieter Kühne (born February 13, 1937 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper. 1966/67 he played 14 games for the BSG Wismut Gera in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Until 1960, Dieter Kühne was goalkeeper for the company sports association (BSG) Motor Gera-Zwötzen in the fifth-class district class Gera . For the 1961/62 season he moved to BSG Wismut Gera, where he was first used in the 2nd team that played in the fourth class (from 1963/64 third class) district league was used. He played his first three point games for the first team (second class GDR league ) in 1963/64. In the 1965/66 season, the previous goalkeeper Manfred Grimm could not be used, and so coach Heinz Ernst madeKühne to number one in the goal of the 1st team. Of the 30 league games in the GDR league, Kühne completed 29 matches and was thus instrumental in the Gera team's ascent to the GDR league.

In the 1966/67 Oberliga season, Kühne initially remained the first goalkeeper at Wismut Gera and played the first seven point games. Then Grimm was in ten league games in goal, but was then replaced again for seven games in the league by Kühne. Wismut Gera could not assert itself in the upper league and was relegated after a year.

In the 1967/68 season, Klaus Heinzel was a new goalkeeper who was relegated to Wismut Gera. This fought a duel with Manfred Grimm, in which Kühne was left behind with only one appearance in the GDR league. Apart from two other GDR league games in 1968/69, Kühne was called up again in the 2nd team, for which he was active in the district league until 1972.
