Dieter Klenke

Dieter Klenke (born July 8, 1952 in Oschersleben (Bode) ) was Mayor of Oschersleben from 1993 to 2015 .

Life

Klenke is a trained BMSR technician. He worked for eight years on the board of the Association of Cities and Towns in Saxony-Anhalt . He then worked for six years in the State Prevention Council in Saxony-Anhalt and for nine years on the board of the Matthias Claudius Haus Foundation (living quarters and workshops for people with disabilities) of the Protestant Diakonie Oschersleben.

In 1989 Klenke co-founded the local SPD club in Oschersleben and was chairman of the local club from 1993 to 2002. In 1993 he was elected mayor of Oschersleben.

In October 2011, after falling out with the parliamentary group chairman and former district administrator Burkhard Kanngießer , he and his wife, who had been a member of the city council since 1994, left the SPD. As a non-party member, he held the office of mayor from April 15, 1993 to June 26, 2015. Dieter Klenke is the longest-serving mayor of the city of Oschersleben (Bode) for the past 300 years.
