Dieter Kranzlmüller

Dieter A. Kranzlmüller (* 1969 ) is a German computer scientist and university professor of Austrian origin. In November 2014, Kranzlmüller became chairman of the scientific advisory board of the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies . Since April 1, 2017, Kranzlmüller has also been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Leibniz Computing Center (LRZ) of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences (BAdW). He is also the head of the LRZ .

Life

After studying and doing a doctorate at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz , Kranzlmüller first worked in the IT industry at E. Eisenbeiss and Sons . In 1993 he returned to the Institute for Computer Science at the same university as an assistant and stayed there until 2003. After stints at the universities in Reading , Dresden and Lyon and a position as deputy project manager at CERN , he followed a call to LMU in May 2008, since which time he is professor for computer science at the chair for communication systems and system programming at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) . Kranzlmüller supports the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM)
