Dieter Peters

Dieter Peters (* 1946/1947) is a local researcher from Aachen . Since the end of the 1980s, the former administrative officer at Deutsche Post AG has been researching Jewish cemeteries . Numerous Jewish cemeteries in North Rhine-Westphalia , Hesse , Brandenburg , Schleswig-Holstein , Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Saxony he has documentation created and photographed equipped. Peters published his research results in various specialist organs or through a self-publisher. His private archive now includes around 80,000 names and biographies from more than 800 cemeteries as well as 10,000 photos of tombstones and cemeteries and around 7,500 references.

Since 1994, Peters has been working as a freelancer in the sense of a cemetery officer of the regional association of Jewish communities in North Rhine-Westphalia .
