Dieter Pumplün

Dieter Pumplün (born December 22, 1932 ) is a German mathematician .

Life

After receiving his doctorate on December 21, 1960 as Dr. rer. nat. at the University of Munster he was 1963/1964 Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota . After completing his habilitation in Münster in 1966, he became a scientific adviser and professor there in 1970 . In 1974 he was appointed to the founding committee of the Distance University. Since 1975 there was a professor. He taught as visiting professor at the University of Cape Town in 1987 and at the University of California, San Diego in 1988.
