Klaus Heiner Kamps

Klaus Heiner Kamps (born March 7, 1941 in Erfurt ; † February 21, 2019 ) was a German mathematician .

Life

He studied mathematics in Saarbrücken from 1960 to 1965 . After receiving his doctorate in 1968 at Saarland University and his habilitation in 1973 at the University of Konstanz , he became a university lecturer in Konstanz in 1973 and an adjunct professor in 1977 . In 1977 he became a scientific adviser and professor at the FernUniversität Hagen and a university professor there in 1980. In 2005 he was retired. Kamps last lived in Losheim am See .

His research focus was homotopy theory within the field of topology.
